Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice your bananas into coins and set them aside.
  • Put the butter in your baking dish and slide it into the oven to melt for a couple of minutes.
  • In a bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Pour in the milk and vanilla, then stir until the mixture is just combined. A few small lumps are fine.
  • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring it together.
  • Scatter the sliced bananas evenly over the batter.
  • If desired, sprinkle cinnamon over the top.

Baking

  • Bake for about 40 to 50 minutes, until the top looks golden and the center is set.
  • Let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
