Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, diced onion, minced garlic, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into patties.
  • Slice the potatoes thin and layer them in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Arrange the patties on top of the potatoes.
  • Prepare the gravy according to package instructions, then pour it over the patties and potatoes.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes to brown the top.
